On Sunday, August 11, in Italy, a Norwegian Boeing 787 Dreamliner lost several fragments of its Rolls Royce engine in flight. Despite the fact that there were no injuries, this incident is another blow to Boeing and the engine manufacturer.
The Boeing 787 took off at 16:27 from Rome – Fiumicino Airport and should have landed in Los Angeles later. However, at 400 altitude, the aircraft’s left engine experienced a problem, forcing the aircraft to turn around “safely,” according to an airline spokesman. The aircraft, which carried 298 passengers, damaged more than 25 cars and 12 houses due to metal fragments in the engine.
