On July 22nd, we wrote about British Airways’ halt of its Cairo-bound flights. To remind you, British Airways took this decision for “security precaution” which Cairo Airport did not understand as it met all safety standards. The Egyptian aviation ministry was surprised and displeased by this decision as British Airways did not go to the Egyptian authorities before taking the decision. A executive at Egypt Air even stated that this decision was taking “without logical reason” escpecialy since all other airlines continued operating their flights to Egypt capital.
On July 25th, a spokewoman for BA said, “Following a thorough assessment of the security arrangements, we are pleased that our service to and from Cairo will resume from Friday July 26”.
We do not any further detail concerning the halt and the reoperation of flights.
