Delta Airlines has just received its first of 35 A330-900. The N401DZ should have its commercial start on July 15 for its first Seattle Tacoma Int’l, USA to Shanghai Pudong, China flight. Seoul and Tokyo are also on schedule starting respectively on August 1st and August 31st.
The A330-900 is part of the A330neo family, it can seat 287 passengers in typical three-class layout. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and includes aerodynamic improvements such as new composite Sharklet wingtip devices. With increased lift and reduced drag, the A330-900 is a more efficient aircraft that will generate savings through reduced fuel burn.
