Last June, we told you about the expansion and improvement project for London Gatwick Airport. A 12-week public debate had been set up to gather the opinions of the people living near the airport. Here are the results of this survey:
– 66% of respondents are in favour of maximum use of the runway and the use of the holding runway as an airstrip
– 59% of respondents are in favour of creating a new track if necessary
In this project, London-Gatwick also plans to use new technologies to improve the main runway and accommodate more traffic. The holding track should be used as a classic track by 2030.
These changes should enable London Airport to be even more competitive and to participate in its economic growth, in particular by welcoming new flights.
