In order to prevent passengers from losing their luggage, Air France has decided to implement an RFID chip tracking system on its luggage labels. In 2018, more than 24 million pieces of luggage had problems during transport, whether it was lost, damaged or delayed. Thus, the French company will buy 40 million RFID tags per year over 3 years, or 120 million tags. The latter will be equipped with the Ucode 8 chip built in Argent-sur-Sauldre by NXP.

Air France plans to label 8 million pieces of luggage in 2020 in order to improve the management of their transport.
