As of next week, travellers passing through San Francisco airport will no longer be able to buy plastic water bottles there. In order to meet the needs of customers, about a hundred water coolers have already been installed.
The ban will therefore begin on August 20 and will concern the sale of plastic water bottles within the airport itself. We can recall that it was already forbidden to pass through security with a personal water bottle, whether it is made of plastic or not. Currently, about 4 million bottles are sold at San Francisco Airport each year. This decision is part of the Zero Waste Program, a program launched to combat the airport’s main waste sources.
