On Thursday, August 15, a Wizz Air W6-2427 aircraft departing from Budapest and bound for Iceland was forced to divert to Stavanger, Norway. A passenger reportedly attempted to enter the aircraft’s cockpit in mid-flight while it was en route to the Nordic island. The man himself was Icelandic and was about sixty years old. Once the plane landed, the subject was stopped by the Norwegian police.
A spokesman for Wizz Air said, “A passenger has become unruly and vulgar. Our cabin crew handled the situation as planned. The captain decided to divert the flight to Stavanger Airport and call the police. The plane landed safely and upon landing, the passenger was handed over to the authorities.
